"Economical and Juridical Questions about Financing the Public Service Broadcasting in consideration of European Law" on the 8th May 1998

Due to an intensivation of the collaboration of the Institute for Broadcasting Economics and the Institute for Media Law, the implementation of collective scientific conferences, along the lines of the traditionally organized annual conference by the Institute for Media Law, were decided. The first of those common conferences took place on the 8th May 1998. The topic was: "Economical and Juridical Questions about Financing the Public Service Broadcasting in consideration of European Law". This topic is for both Institutes and their research activities of high importance. The conference participated about 230 people from different fields like science, politics and press.

Immediately after the conference the presentations were published in the series of working papers of the Institute for Broadcasting Economics. By now the presentations together with the introduction, the closing words and the contributions of the discussions from the members of the auditorium are also published in the series of papers from the Institute for Media Law, Volume 73 ("Juridical and Economical Questions about Financing the Public Service Broadcasting in consideration of European Law", Verlag C. H. Beck, München 1998).
