WP 306 published: TTIP, Cultur and Media: It's about the cement which holds our society togehter (German version)

Verena Metze-Mangold, Chairwoman of German UNESCO Commission, and Pascal Albrechtskirchinger, Head of ZDF Europe Office in Brussel, debate in this paper, why should the cultural assets be teken out of free-trade, what the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) aims to. Initially they describe for this the priorities of the memebers of the European Union; then discuss the Realpolitik based on it as a politics of the „regulatory harmonisation“. Concluding they ask the future question of the „right to regulate“, how and by whom the regulatory gaps in areas of the coulture and media politics. They consider the most important postulate, that trade and assurance of the cultural variety will be combined and und assurance of the variety multilateral will be recognized.
